Zoom-zoom...

Boy, as your book deadline approaches, this title would work for a couple of things including, “Please hurry. I need to get it in the mail for reviewers.” You need to read my article; Time: Friend or Foe (Time: Friend or Foe) for more on that subject.

However, in this case, I’m not talking about speed. We went to a movie about a dog named “Bolt.” (Sorry, no movie review today.)

OK, the connection is the gal who owns the dog gives commands and he’ll follow. One of the commands is “Zoom-Zoom” making him go really fast.

In the digital world, “Zoom” is to enlarge or zoom in. This ability or tool to zoom in (and turning on invisibles) are essential to getting a handle on many things including extra spaces, spaces on the wrong side of quote marks, extra returns when a single page break is needed, a Section break instead of a normal page break.

So in my own “super-hero” world I do use Zoom-Zoom and X-ray vision or invisibles everyday.

How to zoom in on something?

Hold the Control Key and either use the “+” key or simply scroll your mouse roller one click at a time (slowly).

How to turn on invisibles or hidden text?

And as a reminder, to turn invisibles on or off in (MS Word); hold Control, Shift and hit the number 8 key. In WordPerfect it's a little different so check you manual. (Sorry, I don’t know how “flame on” yet.)
