Traditional
Publisher or Self Publish...
Hopefully,
before submitting your manuscript to an agent or a publisher, you
have done your homework and followed their specific instructions or guidelines.
If
not, you are wasting your time and theirs.
By
the way, it is just as difficult to find a reputable agent as it is
to find a reputable publisher. If you are targeting the big
traditional publisher, you will most definitely need an agent;
however, if you want to self publish, an agent is not necessary.
Visit
your local library for the Guide to Literary Agents or Writer’s
Market to find proper representation. Also check online for
these and other books.
The
process of finding an agent or a traditional publisher (and jumping
through their hoops) is one of the reasons self-publishing has grown
so rapidly.
