Writing:
a)
Creat fact sheet/biographical sketch for each person/time line of
family history.
b)
Make a working outline of your chapters and book.
c)
Write a chapter at a time--a rough draft, and let it be rough.
d)
By chapter, review, reresearch, revise, delete, fill-in.
e)
Put in interest-builders: quotations, humor, maps, charts, poetry,
items of interest for youth, add in emotions (fear, anger, hurt, joy,
tragedy, sudden fortune) and lots of stories.
f)
Rewrite to improve writing: shorter words and sentences, better
paragraphs, tighter organization.
g)
Critique: have others read to proof, correct and add to.
h)
Final type
i)
Finishing touches: table of contents, maps, introduction,
bibliography of sources, picture pages with captions
