Copyright
Issues
Heres
more on the copyright issue.
Again,
the correct spelling to protect your rights to the
copy is copyright. Even though you might write a book and
make a copy of it.
I
had so many calls about the different ways to protect your rights to
your works and which were the most protective methods, that I called
the Copyright Office in Washington DC.
If
you put Copyright with a date, its yours by nature
of it being created by you. Now the question comes into play when
that date is challenged.
If
you put your dated works into an envelope and mail it to yourself
and not open it, the postmark date would be evidence of at least that
date in time. The judge can then be the one to break the seal and see
your date.
The
final level of protection is when you finish the works; mail the
completed copyright form (with payment) and two (2) finished copies
of your works to the Copyright Office in Washington, DC.
When
all three (3) methods are sitting on the judges desk, the
official form with payment wins.
Heres
