Converting
paper to paperless (eBook)
An
author I work with (two titles thus far), called and asked if I
would help convert her two books into eBooks.
I
wholeheartedly agreed and asked her why she wanted to do this. I had
my reasons, but I was curious about hers.
After
a moment, she asked if I was OK with that. After all, it may seem a
little curious why a person who makes their living helping people
self-publish their books (with real paper) be excited to use
paperless, green technology.
My
excitement? Exposure, teaser, marketing, sales, excerpts posted on
her blog and on her website (shes still working on that part).
I told her if people could get a taste of her writing via an eBook,
without a doubt her sales would jump. People dont usually sit
by the fire, cuddled in a big blanket, with a cup of hot cocoa and
their 19 inch monitors. Some might do that, but hard-copy books made
with real paper are still the favorite choice.
